"Couldn't..." Lister paused, looking at that familiar face, that familiar body, as something finally allowed itself to click. "Help herself." He shifted on the floor again, the floodgates of feeling now irrevocably open, and sighed. Aw hell. He was in deep smeg indeed.

Forgot to add that Rimmer admitting that he misses Lister also elicits an "Awwwwwww!".

I really love that moment. Yes, it's because he's completely broken down, which is a bad thing, but he's just so open. *sigh*

Oh, and his thoughts about wanting to hurt who he thinks is a clone pretending to be Lister were eerily powerful. Gave me shivers. (That was roadstergal's work, obv. - it's not like I sit around admiring my own writing. ;) )

Yeah, that was the moment, all right. And he is in deep smeg! Not that it isn't enjoyable smeg, but smeg nonetheless. *nods*

Heh, we should keep a running tally of the things Rimmer blames for his situation in this fic. I have some favorites that I can't divulge yet... ;)
