Slashers at Dimension Jump?

smaych, sunny_bexster, alyeen1, lemmesay and myself are all going to Dimension Jump next weekend. Is anyone else coming?

smaych and I were wondering if, perhaps, some sort of badge-type-thing could be arranged, so that we could recognize one another. booshslashhaven did something similar during The Mighty Boosh tour last year; it makes it easy for slashers (who want to get spotted) to spot one another, and meet up.

Is this a good idea or not?

Sounds like a good idea to have something so we could spot each other, but I'd (also) like it if we would have some kind of meeting-plan if it's possible!? Don't know how hard it is to spot four (???) others within the massive crowd? *lol* Maybe Friday after the 'official' part is over at a certain place? *scratching head*

There isn't really going to be a massive crowd, as such, nor is there going to be a 'stop' and 'start' sort of thing. It's going to be 400 or so people, at a hotel, moving around and doing different things. It would be extremely hard to AVOID meeting someone you know is there. :) Of course, if you don't know what the person you are looking for looks like, that's an entirely different matter. That's where the badges come in. ;)

We talked about meeting up for curries before the official start of the con, but obviously I won't be able to make that, now. Could we aim for after the opening, maybe? I don't remember how long the opening ceremony/quiz/whatever programming they had going on took last time; we'll have to check that out when we get there.

(I don't know why they don't release a preliminary schedule before the start of the con, though as a convention organizer myself, I know that these things can be more complicated than they seem...)

I figured that you wouldn't make it before the opening when you said that you would get in later, so I think meeting after the opening sounds perfect. Like we just try to find each other when it's over?

(I understand as well that it's complicated scheduling, but one would think that they would at least be able to give a schedule a few days in advance and with the internet today that could be helpful already ... but, oh well, we'll just see *happy shrug*)
