If you're not following Doug Naylor (DougRDNaylor) on Twitter you REALLY need to start doing it now. He's tweeting all over the place about 'upcoming RD news' and 'film in front of an audience or not? Vote now!' He even said to bobbyllew 'you'll be tweeting as you bloody film - "I'm about to say my next line".!'

I was gutted when I missed the last one, and that it was postponed this year (it coincided with my birthday so it would have been so perfect!)

I've got money especially set aside for my plane ticket and have every intention to be there! On order from Mr. Charles :D

I went to DJ 2002 and 2003 and both weekends were made of win. Craig didn't attend either though so even though I've seen him in real life filming Robot Wars I've never met him!

With talk of a new series coming, I think are chances of having the whole cast in attendance are pretty good. Fingers crossed!

Apparently he's not getting back to Jo's (my friend who helps organise the cast attendance at DJ) texts which is annoying. He doesn't have an email address so he's a bitch to get hold of.

Yes, many a time I've heard him express his disdain for technology :/

The only possible email I know of for him is his radio show, funk.6music@bbc.co.uk but as that goes through his producers and studio manager, it's a long shot at best.

All I can say is he'd better start answering those texts--he NEEDS to be there!!!

Nah, he's getting the texts alright, he's just being an awkward bugger ;-) Plus he has to be really careful with the Corrie contract as to when and when he's not free.

True, he does have to be careful with Corrie, especially with that new producer Phil Collinson. From what I've heard he's a lot more strict than Kim Crowther (I just had to stop and ask myself why I know these things lol)

I like to think he'd rather not commit till he knows he can than say he's coming and let people down when he can't. I think that made sense ;)

Well according to Jo, he was incredibly nervous about returning to the conventions after his notable absence - so much so that he demanded almost double the fee of the others as we was so scared about the reception he'd get (he's made some rather dubious comments about such fans in the past). However, he told her he really enjoyed himself last year and seems content to bring his fee back down again. Time shall tell!!

I was there for DJ 2006, and it he was so nervous at first it was heartbreaking. But it was all the more wonderful to see him slowly change into baffled, happy relaxation once he realized that people were actually on his side and cheering him on. It was one of those wonderful 'god I love this fandom' moments. :)

As for last year, um. Yeah. Craig basically owned the room, as I'm sure you've been told. IDK; I don't like the whole celebrity worship thing, and it's not like that, really, but there's something utterly unique about that man. I booked my attendance at DJ in 2006 not expecting to like him, and by the end, I was in some sort of trance.

We're speculating that it's some sort of suprenatural charm field.

I'm glad that the other cast members all seem willing and eager, especially Bobby. I got to meet him once in Seattle when he made the announcement about more RD. He was so lovely and really seemed to enjoy being around his fans :)

I watched some videos of the last DJ on youtube and Craig seemed chirpy and personable. C'mon, Corrie--give him a few days off! I'm 99% sure they don't usually film weekends, so if he can be back by Monday...maybe!
