Someone to Share it With
Lister had spent his life looking for someone to share his dream. Someone who would be perfectly happy to spend the rest of their life on a little farm in Fiji. Someone who would yell at him for burning the toast and then forgive him when he offered to feed all the animals by himself. Someone who would surprise him in the field with a picnic of lager and triple egg sandwiches with chilli sauce. Someone who didn’t care if he wore shirts with curry stains down the front and pants with more holes than Swiss cheese. Someone who would encourage him to practice his guitar even though he sounded terrible. Someone to laugh at his jokes and sympathise with his problems. Someone who knew just how to touch him to drive him crazy. Someone to whisper desperately in his ear that they couldn’t wait any longer. Someone who would moan his name as he trailed wet kisses down their spine. Someone who could make him lose control; leave him desperate for release but at the same time wishing the moment would never end.
Rimmer had spent his life looking for someone to share his song. Someone who would dance with him even when there was no music playing. Someone who would be proud of him, even if it was only for being the most dedicated second technician in the universe. Someone who would encourage him instead of telling him how useless he was. Someone who would compliment him just to see him smile. Someone who would settle down with him in a little red house with a white picket fence. Someone who cared about what he had to say. Someone who understood how much something as simple as a hug meant to someone like him. Someone who would let him hold their hand or wrap his arm around their shoulder at the cinema. Someone who was happy to spend an eternity sharing lazy kisses. Someone who wasn’t going to laugh at his sexual inexperience. Someone who would let him practice as long as it took to get it right. Someone who would teach him how to enjoy his life.
Rimmer set the plate of sandwiches down in front of Lister and was rewarded with a surprised smile. The music played softly in the background and Rimmer found himself returning Lister’s smile.
Lister knew he’d never make it to

*sniff* I love you Rimmer! *cries*
Ahh... Thanks for the Memory... I remember this is really slashy, in an emotional sense. Can't wait to see it again. Thanks for this lovely little vignette. :)
