Giving Up
I decided to make myself useful and post a drabble. Concrit appreciated. Supposed to be 100-words but ended up as 125 XP Implied Lister/Rimmer with bits of Lister/Kochanski. Set during "Back to Reality" with spoilers for "Holoship."
"Did you get Kochanski?"
To say that Lis- Not-Lister, looked confused was somewhat of an understatement, in Not-Rimmer's opinion. The question that followed only confirmed his bunkmate's surprise: "was I supposed to?"
It caught him off guard. When had Not-Lister given up on Kochanski? When had his gerbil-faced, optimistic belief that he'd win back a woman who had been dead for over three million years and was now a pile of dust, at most, dissolved?
Now he thought about it, Not-Lister hadn't mentioned Kochanski in a while, which was disconcerting. Nor, when Not-Rimmer had left to join Enlightenment, had he pounced on the opportunity to resurrect her as a hologram.
Not-Rimmer threw a suspicious glance at the other man. One word sprang to mind: why?
