Aww ... poor young Arn. *sigh* Children like that really nark me off. *throws them into a bush* I love how you start some of your fics with a totally different time or scenario and somehow you get it to link up to the main plotty part of the story. I really like that.

Oh man. The whole wanting to know what gay is, and then being told it is horribly, horribly wrong, before realizing that you are gay yourself... Sadly the reality for so many queer people IRL. I do hope it is better these days, and that I won't be like that on Io either, if people come to live there at some point in the future. Poor Arn.

Oh, and thanks for aging Lister a little bit more, that fits my plans perrrfectly. ;)

Yes, they do a good job in the eps, as well as in the book Backwards, of giving you a sense of Young Arn. Ach.

You know, I really can see Rimmer as closet homosexual, even to himself. Lister I see as just openminded/flexible, but Rimmer - well, demanding parents, miltaristic family, expectations up the wazoo, and as an adult, the maladjusted way he views women, and the way he is incapable of forming relationships - well.
