A little somethin' I've noticed....

Hello to everyone out there, I'm new to this community and am a die hard Rimmer/Lister shipper. I have been looking through all of the wonderful fanfic's everyone has posted, and I've noticed that nobody has really written anything about Listers pregnancy. The only fic I have found is on fanfiction.net by Justina Moriarty, called "Dr WatsonSmyth's Guide to a First Pregnancy" (go check it out, it is fantastic!) but nobody else has.

So, since I currently cannot for the life of me capture the essence of the Red Dwarf characters yet, I extend a challenge to anybody brave enough to tackle it. Write a full length fic, not a drabble, about what happens during and after the pregnancy, and for good measure try and throw in some Rimmer/Lister slashiness. Good luck to all who try (and I really hope somebody tries, please try).

Whoa man... You know, I can't say I haven't thought about it. I should, really, given that I'm writing him for (http://kahvi.livejournal.com/513913.html) [livejournal.com profile] fanfic100... It's just that I think it would be so majorily angsty that I'd have a fit. I don't do angst well if there isn't a happy ending, and obviously there wouldn't be, as he does end up giving them away.

Hm... I could... Meh. Yes. Anything is possible, I suppose. ;)

Nah, I think I have an angle now. ;)

Who says you have to write it like it happened in the show. Personally I've always wandered what Life in Red Dwarf would have been like if the twins had stayed and grown up normally.

Why would it have to be angsty? He's annoyed at how it happens, but he does seem to be boffo, in general, about the idea of having his Jim and his Bexley, and when he emerges from the medibay in Future Echoes, he does look - dare I say? - radiant.

Rimmer will give him unutterable $hit about it - which I think would only steel his resolve to enjoy it. I'd think the pregancy would be hella funny.

Erm, I'm not so sure the dude would actually be able to give up smoking and drinking for nine months, though. Although - since everything re: the twins is accelerated, why would it be nine months? Maybe it's nine days, and he still whinges unmercifully about how long it's taking, and how he's having to give up smoking and drinking...

You know him well. ;) I am so stealing that idea...

I'd say why I feel couldn't help but be angsty, but I'll let the fic speak for itself. It's coming along nicely in my head. Yes.

Go fer it. :)

You know that Rimmer would make himself the Official Monitor Of The Twins' Health, because it would give him an excuse to be an twit to Lister over the drinking and smoking, quality of food, exercise - maybe the swearing, too (they can hear that!).

Oh goodness... That is so sweet beyond words. Unintentionally, yes, but oh wow.
