Mmmmm, hypersensitive Rimmer...

Grr, Legion is creepy. But two Rimmers do make a nice visual. Love Rimmer noting the "difference" between himself and the copy. So right.
Ah the last line, how I love you! But then maybe, somewhere, in another time and place there could be a few more.

I just can't imagine what it would be like to be without touch for years, then finally get it back. I found Bodyswap odd in that it focused on food. I mean, come on. ;)

Oooh, nice. I liked Cat's dream - I've been re-reading the books, and Cat's island in BTL was always one of my fave bits.

I also liked Legion's train of thought: "I'm going to be stuck with this goit for a looong time... maybe if I shag him he'll be more tolerable."

... I think more people need to spend time with Legion. Smart chappy, that one.

Thanks! Ja, people aren't sufficiently sympathetic when it comes to Legion - I mean, he had to be made up with all of them!

There was something very strange going on with Rimmer when he walks into the breakfast room in that 'morning-after' scene in Legion, when he asks "Why is he [Legion] so obsessed with fulfilling our every desire?" He is hideously uncomfortable, and avoids eye contact with the rest. I like to speculate on what every-desire of his was fulfilled.

One thing I'm finding interesting about my re-watching of Red Dwarf is the use of sex. I mean, I started watching before I hit double digits, so a lot of the innuendo that went over my head is now pinching my cheeks and cooing over how cute I am. But, for the most part, the sexual needs and desires of the crew - alright, just Lister and Rimmer - don't seem to come up much. Admittedly, when they do it's incredibly fascinating.

Lister's sexal drives come out a little in VI and a lot in VII. I found it odd that there wasn't something similar for Rimmer and Cat. Well, Cat would have had his with Identity Within...

Indeed, but we never see that dynamic, as we do with Lister in most of the VII eps and as we do with Cat in IDW. We really only see that side of Rimmer in Holoship and, indirectly, in Thanks For The Memory. After all, on Starbug, there's only so much room for runs, and the gardening programs were left on Red Dwarf. ;)

Rimmer is sometimes written as rather asexual. Consider his astonishment at Lister's early sexual experiences (well, that rather astonished me too, but it was meant to be extreme of course). Then again, this could just as easily be representative of a repressed sexuality, and that's where we're at. ;)
