So I'm sure a lot of you have heard about Red Dwarf: The Bodysnatcher Collection.

What's been going through my mind lately is this - wasn't there a rumor about a planned, never-filmed episode where Rimmer and Lister were taken over by aliens who wanted to shag?

I mean, I realize this isn't likely to be it (given, for one, that Rimmer is incorporeal) but it does tingle the imagination, no?

I would have thought that to take him over the aliens must make him corporeal in some way - you know, the aliens came and the gave him a body like he thought, only not for his own use ::g::

They were trying for some scene where alien lovers took over Rimmer and Lister's bodies and got some sort of kiss. It was originally supposed to tie in with the Casablanca reference. But between the intangibility and it just not flowing, they didn't. It somewhat influenced the opening of Holoship, and of course, Blue.

Thank Craig Charles. It was him complaining in Season 4 about never getting a kissing scene that put the idea into the writer's minds.

That, and the fact that Chris and Craig couldn't stand one another at that point, and Grant/Naylor liked the idea of messing with them. Leastways that's what I heard. ;)
