A response drabble to "Fate" from Rimmer's POV.
Not sure how I feel about this one. Some parts I love, others feel strange. What are your thoughts?

Lister/Rimmer
Synopsis: What Rimmer's thinking as he looks at Lister during "Fate".

 

A moment's peace would be such relief.
You’re avoiding me. You feel it too.
I’m edging closer to more
desperate means
for the chance at one stolen kiss --
between loneliness and silence,
and glimpses into sad eyes.
I should give up pretending.

What I feel for you is destructive anyway.

Lister.
You must see

I’m a coward.
I can’t be the one to…initiate.

How many times have I almost said the words?

Sometimes I’m sure you hear, I think them so loudly;

you don’t flinch.

I imagine your lips are spiced petals

and you taste like a summer day.
