Okay, everyone who gave Wildfire's computer a name in any of their fics, what was it and why? I love the idea that each iteration of Ace gives her a new name that I've seen in a couple of fics.

Mine was Sasha, in Floor 13: A Final View. I picked it because it seemed to me to kind of fit with her voice and yet not be overtly sexy a name, particularly because in the fic in question Kochanski was the one flying Wildfire rather than Ace.

Fiona, with Nona for short. It struck me that Arn would need someone to banter with, someone with an attitude. As the Wildfire is red, it made me think of a redhead. Fiona -> fire. As writing went on, she got her own "body" in my head, so to speak, and I often describe the impression her voice makes on others, the sorts of actions that the characters who hear her would ascribe to those tones.

I'm good at creating character. I'm just bad about doing much with them.

fearcat and I have named the computer Rose for Cosmic Castaway. I think she's kinda named ironically - she's nowhere near a blushing rose at all. I write her as sarcastic and critical yet mumsy and hen-clucking. Hehe ^__^
