Slashers London Meet
Howdy y'all!
After meeting up for the first time last month,
fearcat and I were wondering who else would be up for a Red Dwarf slashers meet in London at some point in the next few months? Would be lovely to meet up with a few more slashy peeps, especially before Dimension Jump in April 2011.
Drop a comment here if you'd be interested. Thanks muchly. ^__^

Just looking at the site - there's no mention of which Tube station, but I'm assuming it's Southwark?

Nope, the nearest station is London Bridge. In fact, if you take the Borough High Street exit it's right there in front of you - right next to the entrance to Borough Market.
Looking forward to it!

If we could make it three, that'd be brilliant. I've just worked out that it'll take me three quarters of an hour to get there (I'm staying in Putney).

London Bridge isn't on the District line though? Northern and Jubilee for that one :-) Double check your line closures for that weekend cos District and Jubilee have a habit of closing....

Nah, I'll have to change at Westminister, but at least there's only one change. But yeah, not the two best lines, really. That's life when you're staying in scenic downtown Putney! I'll sort it out. :)
Rambly aside: People (notably: never people who actually live in London) tell you that the Tube system is so horribly complicated, but I've always found it rather color coded and cheerfully simple. Except that one time in 2008 when I was going to see Boosh with a friend. I was staying at a hotel at Earl's Court at the time, so I was going to take the the Tube to Wembley from there. Being overconfident, I didn't think to check the schedules or the map, as I'd been navigating the district line for a week at that point, and I've been to London more times that I could count. I felt like a native.
I'm sure you can see what's coming.
I ended up going in the complete opposite direction, and by the time I realized, there was no chance of me getting to the venue in time. In my defense, I was
an idiotrather ill at the time, but I was still gutted.no subject
Haha - don't worry, even natives make mistakes. I was horribly drunk with friends one night and trying to get home. Some smart arse had changed the signs around that indicate what other lines that station connects to. So here's me thinking 'that's weird, I didn't think the Jubilee line went to Charing Cross but oh well - ONWARD!' and got on the wrong train. OH WELL.

Yeah, you'd think I'd have noticed I was going to Wimbledon, right? I guess I went Oh well, one W is much the same as another, Y/Y?!?!
