~ Taste and Texture ~
“What about this?” Lister asked and slipped a whipped cream topped strawberry into Rimmer’s mouth.
The latter had his eyes closed and willingly chewed on the food.
“Strawberry,” Rimmer whispered, “God, that’s delicious! I can’t even remember when I last ate one of these.”
Lister gave a chuckle at that. They had been experimenting for hours – testing out Rimmer’s new hard-light form.
“Alright, Rimmer, my man, so far it’s been easy. Now you’re in for a tough one! Ready?”
Rimmer screwed up his face in a mock serious expression. “I was born ready,” he said in a deep voice.
“Eyes closed, mouth open, if you please.”
Rimmer obeyed.
The next thing he knew, Lister’s lips were on his and Lister’s tongue was in his mouth, coated with something sweet and exquisite.
“Smeg, Listy,” Rimmer breathed when they finally, albeit reluctantly, parted, “Warn a guy the next time you ninja-kiss him with melted chocolate.”
“So you recognized the taste?”
Rimmer smirked, “I’m not so sure all of a sudden. I should try again to make sure.”
“Yeah, we’d better make sure.”
“We’d better.”
Lister forgot to dip his tongue into the chocolate this time, but neither of them noticed or cared.
