Article about 'how to save RD' - including L/R!
Picked this up on my Google alerts. The blog Toplessrobot wrote 8 ways Red Dwarf can be saved, and #4 is "Focus on the Lister/Rimmer dynamic (with clip from 'Marooned'), and #3 "Get Rid of Kochanski". A teeny part of me agrees with #1 "Let it die", but I'm too selfish; I want to see the boys again.
The dynamic between Lister and Rimmer was the heart of the show, for me. It wasn't there in BtE and it changed too much in S8 for me.
I don't think the show can get the visibility in the US (#7) that Doctor Who has at the moment; BtE didn't do it any favors in that regard. If it ends up being a proper series based around the characters, and the writers don't try to shoehorn in an overall thread like they did with BtE, I think it could work. *fingers crossed*
