WARNING!!!!!

Just to warn people.... THERE IS A MAJOR SPOILER FLOATING ABOUT ON THE INTERNET. MAJOR. For episode one.

Just warning everybody. OK.

If you Google Red Dwarf X you WILL find it.

We go forever without the fans leaking anything and the leaks start happening after the press gets shown the show. *rolls eyes*

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm *still* spoiler free and trying desperately to stay that way.

*high five* I'm not completely spoiler-free, but I am as much as I can be.

I've already read it--and don't worry, I won't discuss it here! I wouldn't want to hear every detail of an episode before I see it, apart from that I rather like spoilers :)

Just figures, how the fans who were at the recordings kept their mouths zipped for 8-9 months. The press sees one episode and blabs. It's true that in the end all Dave will care about is viewing figures/$. But the mere fact that fans took the no-spoiler policy so seriously deserves a pat on the back. If there is indeed RDXI, I think we can count on it being in front of an audience again for good behavior :)

To be blunt, I suspect as long as the show gets the ratings, sells the DVD, and brings in the sponsorships to make Dave happy, they couldn't care less if audience or anyone else "leaks" the plots six months ahead of time. But I'm a cynical bastard who knows most businesses see things in terms of $$$$ as the bottom line. ;-)

Oh, I wasn't addressing that. Just the idea that Dave would care so long as all goes well financially.

*slow clap*

Way to go, Press.

It's kinda...impressive in a really backwards way...

But the boyfriend has just reminded me that the Radion Times (which has the TV listings...cos Britain is cool like that) spoilers shows every week...right in the periodical you read to find out what time the shows are on.

Evidently, those in the British press think viewers live for teh spoilerz.

[identity profile] veronica-rich.livejournal.com 2012-08-30 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
To be fair, I used to read TV Guide, and it was never considered a spoiler to say, oh ... "Jack and Chrissy discover Janet's dark secret when an old flame comes to town." Which is more than we've gotten on any ep of Dwarf X from those in the know, before this. I guess I don't think they're that bad, even if a little bit spoilery. I mean, I found out the end of The Sixth Sense in a pro review online long before it should have become cultural knowledge - THAT is a spoiler. And I was pissed.

Is it definitely only Ep 1? If so I'd like to check its accuracy. ;)

[identity profile] janamelie.livejournal.com 2012-08-30 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks. I understand Seb P's scorn now. Only about half of that is right. Obviously I won't say which bits. ;)

Yeah, my eyebrows raised at bits of the synopsis that didn't seem quite right.

[identity profile] fantasysci5.livejournal.com 2012-08-31 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
I feel like quoting Cat and Kryten from that newest trailer; "What's going on?!"

The fans keep their mouths shut, and the press just leak it everywhere. They may not care, but some of us fans do. I don't mind seeing some of the mild spoilers, like episode titles and such that we discuss here, but it's so disrespectful to fans and the people that worked hard making it.

I'm glad I didn't see it. But then again, now I'm really curious!!!

Don't tempt me! I still want to be surprised! *closes eyes firmly till release date*
