Summary: Snapshots of the years before and after Rimmer left to become Ace. Lister learned too late that you should appreciate what you have before it's gone. Completed January 2012.

Forgot I'd had this. It was originally going to be in a RD zine, but that sadly never came to fruition.

Of all the things in all the universe to run into – white and black holes, parallel universes, time fluctuations, genetically engineered life forms – a cool Arnold J. Rimmer was the last expected.

Oh God, an "Ace comes back" story!!!!! :D I feel like it's Christmas! I loved it, loved it so much. This line just killed me. "The universe needed Ace, but Lister needed Arnold." Oh God, I want that on a shirt. Amazing job!

I'd forgotten that I wrote it. *sheepish look* I write them and if I don't post them after I'm done editing, I file them in the 'finished stories' folder and that's it. I didn't feel like writing anything this weekend, so went back and reread my stuff...and found this. Sadly, the zine didn't pan out. Glad you like it!

This is lovely, touching and erotic. Nice touch at the beginning and end with the repetition of Lister and Rimmer blaming each other, but in a good way the second time. ;)
