Get your own holographic Rimmer!
Holograms have always been a quick, easy way for movies to tell us they're taking place in the future. As soon as you see someone talking with a human-sized hologram, you realize there's no way you'll ever be able to do that, and a part of you dies. Now, a company on Kickstarter promises to bring you the holographic…
But a life-size hologram is something anyone who's watched a science fiction movie has secretly dreamed about.
I'll take two, please!

I find it odd when they want to talk about life-size holograms that are something someone would actually want, they fall back on Star Wars. Those are not good holograms. Al from Quantum Leap would be a well-known hologram that fits more what people might find desirable, as far as freestanding and able to interact (minus the ability to touch, of course - is Rimmer the only solid one in fiction?).

My first answer is "they're holograms; they don't need to sleep." My second answer is "Wear out the first one, have a spare already on standby."
But I honestly thought that they'd be soft light, so...they'd be light fixtures on either side of my couch?

if I could get the velour pants with the blue series X tunic, my life would be complete. Stand there, lads. Just ... there. At attention. stare straight ahead. Pay no attention to the movements below your eye level ;)
