FIC: A Mile in Your Trousers (Body Swap trans!Lister AU)

Title: A Mile in Your Trousers
Author: Lauren ([livejournal.com profile] notalwaysweak)
Rating: I think it's M? There's solo masturbation and discussion of genitalia and sex toys but it's not super graphic.
Warnings: Rimmer is unintentionally a wee bit transphobic, because he is an idiot.
Pairing: Fairly strong Rimmer/Lister undertones.
Word Count: 3441.
Summary: Lister's all for the body swap... as long as Rimmer doesn't freak out when he finds out exactly what Lister's got in his trousers. Or, to be more precise, what Lister hasn't got in his trousers.
Disclaimer: I think if I was Doug Naylor we would all have noticed by now.

Inspired by this thread, which turned into this Tumblr discussion. Many, many thanks to Feckles/horselizard for betaing and trans-picking.

A Mile in Your Trousers at AO3.

I'm pleased I had even a small part in inspiring this by starting that discussion. This is a lot of fun as well as informative for those of us who don't know that much about this topic.

I love perv!Holly! It's arguably canonical as Hattie has a few moments of gentle leering at the Boyz in canon. ;)

I also love the ending and feel as though a hard-light sequel would be lovely. Completely up to you of course. :)

I didn't contribute to that discussion but I found it very interesting and am pleased to see what you've done! I think it's a fascinating take on a really novel idea, and I think you've handled it in a very sympathetic and honest way. I'd love to read more about these versions of Lister and Rimmer.

Um, I think you may have replied to the wrong person? I didn't write this, Notalwaysweak did. I simply started the discussion which made her think of the idea.

Glad you enjoyed the discussion though. :)

I was just jumping off of your comment about the discussion janamelie, since I'd been following it but hadn't actually contributed anything.

The way you can comment on a comment on LJ still trips me up from time to time. :)

It's fine. Just didn't want anyone thinking I was claiming credit for the fic as opposed to starting the discussion. ;)
