Ficlet: Lone. Rimmer/Lister (sort of). PG.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_draco mentioned a short while ago how there were no bunk scenes in V or VI, because the actors weren't getting along. Something about that just struck me as very sad.
Spoliers for Psirens, Legion, Emohawk... VI in general. A little IDW in there.

They no longer shared bunks.

Ouch. Nicely done.

Is this were I come in? ;)
Sorry... It's just - I just can't see something like this and not want to make it better. Unless you want it not made better. In which case I'll go cry some more, but in a good way, because that's how this made me feel. Good/bad. Yes.

Nice way of showing Kryten's jealousy with regards to Rimmer/Lister; not just Lister/Kochanski. Because it only makes sense, really.

Skip the milk. He hates milk.
*snigger/awww combination at joke plus implication of wanting cuddles*

Pretty much all he had from life had been in that camphorwood chest
*eyes internal Lister* Is it time for me to beat you up again?

Lie in the bunk, look up at the blank ceiling. Feel very keenly the absence of Lister above him. Wank. Fall asleep.
I'd like to describe how this bit makes me feel, but I can't. So many emotions.

Right, that's it. *goes to beat up Lister*

*sniffle*

That was beautifully written, my dear. Twas sad ... *hugs Rimmer*

Why do I never have dreams like that?
*sulks*

[identity profile] lady-draco.livejournal.com 2006-04-03 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Red Dwarf dreams are most enjoyable. Except the bad ones where one of the characters die. They never snog in my dreams though. Usually that's me having the honour. I've yet to dream about snogging Kryten and when I do, I think I'll run away and hide.

*squeak*

Hmm - I need a good Rimmer/Lister dream. *goes off and intoxicates brain with lots and lots of slasheh stuffs*

Mmm... Between... *homer simpson-like drool*

[identity profile] kahvi.livejournal.com 2006-04-04 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
Now THERE'S a dream for ya... ;)

[identity profile] kahvi.livejournal.com 2006-04-04 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
It's wrong that I wouldn't mind a bit of Kryten, so to speak, right? Right? *looks around nervously*

*smirks*

I wouldn't mind a bit of Robert Llewellyn - he's rather dashing - but I don't think I could do a mechanoid.

[identity profile] kahvi.livejournal.com 2006-04-04 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
I'm all about androids, but he wouldn't be my first choice (rather obviously) ;)

And yes, rather dashing indeed!

That hurts. That really hurts. Beautifully written.

I've noticed that the conversations they have in the bunk scenes are lot more like 'normal, between mates' conversations than any other and I genuinely feel that they would both fall apart if those conversations weren't there anymore.

Rimmer just breaks my heart, he really does.

[identity profile] jargonelle.livejournal.com 2006-04-04 03:16 pm (UTC)(link)
This is a great look at Rimmer's relationship with Kryten, and was very nicely written... but oh so sad!

Rimmer was sure, and he was petrified that, somehow, every memory, every thought, every fantasy that he has ever had was recorded on his bee for posterity, and that Kryten had perused them at his 200-year leisure. - ouch. That is a creepy thought!

And on the topic of RD dreams, I dreamt last night that I was Chris Barrie... that was... weird...

[identity profile] jargonelle.livejournal.com 2006-04-04 03:21 pm (UTC)(link)
*laughs*

I made a terrible Chris Barrie though.

I forgot all my lines and kept tripping over things.

[identity profile] jargonelle.livejournal.com 2006-04-04 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
(and I don't think the way me-as-Chris-Barrie reacted to working with Craig Charles was all that authentic really)

[identity profile] jargonelle.livejournal.com 2006-04-04 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
... My dream-self had its priorities wrong. Most of the dream was learning dialogue (and choreography - there was a song-and-dance routine in there somewhere...) - when I should have been using the time to do... well... *coughs*

Lineeeeeee!!!

*gurgle*

That line looks almost like a scar though it can't be .... I have a thing for thin scars on faces. I find them rather roguish ...

I need to an icon of that line. Line.
