Perfect. It sums up Rimmer’s denial so very well – denial that you actually start to resolve! That’s what I love about your fics – both the gesalt stuff, and your individual works – is that you don’t just ignore awkward things like, y’know, characterization. Also, you write good almost-sex. This whole scene was hawt.

Gods, and then the whole ‘Rimmer is neurotic’ bit – it just fit him so well.

until Kryten came over with a deadpan look to ask him, in forcedly calm tones, whether he was absolutely certain where he'd parked the ship?

- Oh. The whole picture of it: Rimmer slowly undressing and Lister staring, staring and... telling Rimmer what he wants to do and... even though he can't touch Rimmer... Guh. No words to describe the immense hotness of it all.

- sbdlksdblskgbsögksbögksnf AGH! I kind of understand Rimmer and am in many ways like him (minus the worry of the almost-incest) but. Agh, so frustrating!

All the aghs and guhs aside, this continues being a vey good fic :)

Oh, how deliciously screwed up Rimmer is. I love the different reactions to the alternate reality. It's an interesting thing to explore, I don't think I've seen it done before.

Great line (and imagery). The last line was a killer.
