Someone help.... Please?

Hiya all, sorry I haven't got a fic to post... It's just a question that I was hoping the geniuses (Or is that genisi? Like Octopi) would be able to help with. I've just finished reading Last Human the RD novel and I believed it to be the last in the series... But on some sites it's stated as being the third, though I cannot see how that would make sense with the general plot...

Does anyone know the order for certain?

It was the third book published, but 'Backwards' takes place immediately after 'Better Than Life'.

The trick is that Backwards and Last Human are both the third novel. They're both set after BTL, and it's Doug and Rob's separate takes on what happens after BTL. They don't fit in with each other. Yet another example of the parallel universes theory!

Oh! Oh right, I thought that Doug and Rob just decided the last two were to be individual contributions. Oh good, that makes me feel better actually (The ending of Last Human got me a little peeved).

Ditto on what laurenmitchell said, but I remember reading that both books were meant to be considered alternate realities, "our" crew is assumed to have a different timeline, yet to be established.
