Makes sense. I had always wondered what was going through Rimmer's mind when Lister told him he loved him right before and after they split up, and her story provides some clarification -- Lister wasn't the first to develop deeper feelings. :( It's so sad all around...

It is sad. I just want to add that the well drawn secondary characters add immeasurably to the enjoyment of the story. :)
