Oh god :( :( :(

I hate/love you.

Also, you might want to change the warnings?

I hate what just happened in this fic, but if I didn't it would be pretty weird. :(

OTOH, I love the characterisation of Howard. Puts me in mind of a spiv in a 50s British film.

I did see the warnings so I wasn't completely unprepared. I don't want to sound angry with you - you can obviously write whatever you want. :)

It's just that - odd as this may sound given the content of these fics - I was enjoying them as escapist fantasy and now that's been shattered. That doesn't mean I'll stop reading - I doubt I could if I tried.

I can understand you wanting to do that given how unpopular the original "50 Shades" is on Tumblr. Those are important issues to highlight. :)

I did notice those parallels and think you've done a wonderful job of showing what you wanted to show. :(

And having read the first story and felt Lister's pain, I feel so torn about the woman. Obviously what she wants to do is never the answer, but still. (Based on what she said, she seems to have the sequence of events slightly wrong? Maybe that's part of it.)

**SPOILERS*** (maybe too late for that :S)

Oh, just where she says "You stole him from me" -- if my understanding of the timeline is correct, Rimmer dumped her a couple months before he even met Lister. Then again, I guess that could be how she perceives it in her twisted mind.

**SPOILERS**

Yeah my thoughts were that she was absolutely destroyed when Rimmer dumped her. I don't think she's thinking rationally in any sense. Especially given what she's resigned to do. Certainly not the thoughts of a rational person!

Makes sense. I had always wondered what was going through Rimmer's mind when Lister told him he loved him right before and after they split up, and her story provides some clarification -- Lister wasn't the first to develop deeper feelings. :( It's so sad all around...

It is sad. I just want to add that the well drawn secondary characters add immeasurably to the enjoyment of the story. :)

I am literally on the edge of my seat here. LITERALLY. This is such riveting stuff.

Lister though. I didn't want that to happen to Lister. Gut-wrenching, but quite understanding in the narrative. I can totally understand why you went there.

Just curious, I have never read any of the 50 Shades books and I'm wondering how closely this whole story is following those books? I know the first one was very much a parody of sorts, but is this following the sequels in any way or is it's own animal with it's own storyline?
