Assessing the fandom.
Must not converse with
cheezdanish about Mary Sues.

Still, I think Rimsy's still winning in the long-term department, which is pretty much the predicted outcome.

For a shag every so often, it'd be Lister *nod*. Unless of course he is shagging Mr Rimmer. Then I won't push it :)

It is actually quite a feat to take this neurotic gittish character and make him still vulnerable enough that you feel sorry for him even in his worst moments.
I can't stand Ace, so I have problems finding him attractive, but you gotta love Chris in that outfit.

But it is likely that men writing will think that he cannot get women, while not realising that a lot of women will not like a type like Ace at all, that is a type other men admire.

I'd go for Spanners, though. Or Rimmer's first officer in the mirror universe - although he's shagging Rimmer, so he's not free.

What is more interesting is the almost mind-boggling influence it had on Rimmer - he was suddenly willing to die for something! Although a lot happened before in season VI probably preparing the grounds for it. I guess self-preservation is one thing, but deep down Rimmer sees himself as a man with principles.

Um... If you ever come to visit our place, make sure to give warning a few months in advance. Rimmerine

Oh, I'm good with visiting folk. But when I start dating someone, I start thinking, "Could I visit this bathroom every morning?" :p
