Date: 2006-08-08 09:33 pm (UTC)My pet theory is that Lister actually hoped that being Ace would fully turn Rimmer into what he could be, and that is the person that he dreams about coming back. So he sent him off with the hope of getting a friend back.
It is so intersting how Lister reacts to Ace and still being completely aware that this is Rimmer - that is how he always wanted to be able to relate to Rimmer.
