just a thought on the upcoming ahem "holiday"

Seeing as I'm about as single as Rimmer *cough*, I thought it might be nice if we had a sort of writing challenge for Valentine's Day. It doesn't have to be hearts and roses, full-on love fest. It doesn't even have to be nice, requited, or even slash (gasp, I know). I wanted to suggest no pairings of any incarnation of Rimmer/Lister to get us to think about other pairings, but I'm actually drawing a blank on who I'd want to see together, even if it's just longing glances as they left the room. I keep shoving Kryten/Lister out of my head, despite the picture I found...that I can't find now. I found this though:

Most disturbing. I put into Google Images search "Lister kiss Kryten" because I have the image downloaded but wanted to link to it, but it showed me more Kryten/Rimmer images! ACK!!

Consider it an homage to "Camille."

LGBT Fest

I am spreading the word about

lgbtfest, an annual challenge in which people write fics dealing with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender characters and issues. It's a bit late to be posting this, but I think you can still submit prompts until sometime tonight or tomorrow. I won't bother going into more detail than that in this post, but everything is laid out clearly here at the comm. You can submit prompts even if you're not intending to write anything. The plotbunnies don't seem to want to visit me anymore, but I was pondering today when a thought suddenly struck me.

Many of you will probably be familiar with the LOTR Very Secret Diaries (and the Hornblower version is a personal favourite)...well, is there a Red Dwarf version? *Should* there be a Red Dwarf version, perhaps based on the events of The End?
And would anyone take the challenge?
