I've recently watched the deleted scenes in SMAC and I want to get something straight.

The Ace that comes back to recruit Arnold stole the time drive and left Kryten, Lister and the Cat for dead. _And_ he says he wanted to go to a dimension where there was a less craven Rimmer to recruit?

If I remember correctly _our_ Rimmer actually tried to save everyone. Which would make him less craven, to start with, then the Ace who actually tried to recruit him. Less craven, but still inept, of course.
