My sister and I started watching "Two and a Half Men" this season to see what they'd do with Ashton Kutcher. So a couple of weeks ago, I heard this voice - and looked up to see Kremlin Kate! Sophie Winkleman is guest-starring as his love interest.

Anyone else seen her on this? I was just surprised because I haven't seen her on any other shows. And, well ... I actually liked Katarina (even if Rimmer's disposition of her was hilarious). I kind of wish they could've both existed on the Dwarf.

Yeah I saw from an advert that she was going to appear. She's more famous here for being in 'The Peep Show'.

I haven't seen the show, but I agree she was good in BTE. The vibe between her and Rimmer was reminiscent of him and Kochanski in "Last Human" - he dislikes her, but grudgingly respects her as an officer and is probably attracted to her too. If it had been a full series they might have been able to do more with that.

God, that hadn't occurred to me before - Katerina as a combination of what Rimmer and Lister want him to be. That raises all sorts of interesting questions.

Although Cat and Kryten's brains presumably helped to create her too. Cat dreaming her up makes some sense, but Kryten less so.

On reflection, Kryten dreaming up someone whose overriding purpose is to make Lister happy makes perfect sense. :O

I actually liked Kremlin Kate. She was a nice addition to the boys. She was nice to look at, too.

Best end to a character I had seen in a long time, though.

I never have cared for "Two and a Half Men", actually.

My mind is blown. I've literally had this going round and round in my head for the past few hours. Considering Rimmer was given 24 hours before he was shut off, who would have wanted that? Cat? Or Rimmer's self-loathing? You know Lister wouldn't wish it, not really, but we got glimpses of Rimmer's worry of Lister and I can't see him wanting to leave Lister alone.

Maybe Kryten contributed by his guilt over lying about Kris Kochanski being dead/leaving. He helped create a woman to replace KK, added in enough annoyance/bruskness so Lister wouldn't fall for her, which as a side effect made her more Rimmer-like. Hm. This is interesting and not something I thought of before.

So, in essence, Katarina was the new Legion?

I enjoyed it. I actually have a hard time picking whether to watch BTE or series 6. Most of the time six wins out for the blue trousers of Rimmer's. :-)

I went in with absolutely no preconceived notions, I was totally blown away in May when I even found out there were 3 new episodes. I was actually searching for the something from Bobby Llewellyn on YouTube when I found it. I had no clue it was even out there. Our local PBS station just carries the 8 regular series, they never even ran BTE.
