Date: 2014-07-14 09:24 pm (UTC)Actually, this brings me to a thought: I feel IIke I haven't seen many fics with Lister angsting one-sided over Rimmer, while there's plenty with the other way around or mutual crushes/angst/confusion. I wonder if this is due to Lister's canonical history with women?

Date: 2014-07-14 11:17 pm (UTC)There is a distinct lack of other candidates for Rimmer's affections though. It's not as though he constantly brings up Nirvanah the way Lister does Kochanski.
There is this fic by MissFlibble. It's kind of cheating because it's a love triangle and Lister only thinks his feelings aren't reciprocated, but it's angsty and utterly brilliant, so have a link. http://archiveofourown.org/works/92601

Date: 2014-07-15 12:59 pm (UTC)I'm tempted to say leave it as is. We love a happy ending for these boys, but it's kind of nice to see one that ends as sadly as this. Especially since it's all so probable. But... how can I ever say that I don't want to see Lister and Rimmer kiss and make up at the end? :)
