Hopefully I can be excused on the grounds that my brain has turned to Christmas stress related mush, but I think it's just about relevant to this comm. :p

Would you say the Boyz are more attractive in their days of extreme cuteness (Series 2 era especially) or in their more mature stage circa Series VII?  I simply cannot decide.

Feel free to back up your arguments with pics. ;)

TRICK QUESTION LISTER IS ALWAYS EXTREMELY ATTRACTIVE

I think I might be alone in finding Rimmer most attractive when he's on the verge of middle age (Series 8). He's a cute, skinny baby in 1-2, but he doesn't appeal to me as much at that stage.

I usually go for older men, but I must admit that series 1/2 Rimmer is my absolute favorite hands down forever and all eternity twist my nipplenods and call me Frank. Number 2 favorite is Rimmer from season 8, because I like the slight chubbiness and I think he looks stunning in that lilac smock.

I'm a fan of tall-and-skinny early Rimmer, for sure. Lister is a bit more ambiguous. He certainly is cuter in the first few seasons, but I find his later mellowed out personality far more attractive.

I find it so odd that he does appear to be chubby in series VIII, but then once he's completely naked, it's clear that he's NOT. I blame it on the wardrobe choices. I HATE that canaries uniform.

For Rimmer, I cannot pick. I find him adorable in all his incarnations, super skinny baby Rimmer from series I-III, slightly more mature and filled-out Rimmer from series IV-VI, 30-something more rough looking Rimmer from series VII-VIII, and silver-haired foxy Rimmer from BTE and series X.

Clearly I just have no preference as far as Chris Barrie is concerned.

For Lister I'm more biased. I love series III with his leathers and big furry hat, but I also love Craig's look circa series VI. I think the first episode of series VI has him with a haircut that's cropped very closely on the sides and for some reason it just drives me CRAZY. The only one of Lister's looks that I'm not particularly fond of is in series I-II when they really go over-the-top with his slobbiness and give him the Hawaiian shirts. I think they just don't suit Craig as well as some of the later looks they gave him.

Then of course there's the long johns. Long may they live.

Smeg. I can't pick. I love them all, in all their days. :D

That Canaries uniform was the best look in Series 8, for all of them, frankly. (Given the choices, it's not a hard contest, but still.)

Haha even as I was typing that I thought "oh, that's not really the right word, is it...?" Mature, maybe? Even kind of serious? Of course, Lister is always Lister, perpetually goofy and slobby, primary directive of chilling out and having a good time. But in later seasons his antagonism toward Rimmer comes more from a comfortable pattern and "something to do" rather than the heat it has early on. As he gets older he is noticeably more melancholy-- a bit more of the pathos comes through after years of being (kind of) alone.

Is it bad that I'm more attracted to Lister when he's depressed?

I actually really love them in Season 2, so young and adorable.
