Jul. 5th, 2006 02:15 amI would like to thank jaclynhyde for the inspiration for this one. Set post-Rimmerworld, pre-Out Of Time. Concrit always good, especially for late-night fics.

Date: 2006-07-05 11:35 am (UTC)Oh, and yeah... I was working on a Brett/Dan story. *facedesk* Can't... Match this... Must... Overcome... Feelings of inferiority...
his tongue out of his mouth and slithering in the air.
You are trying to kill me, aren't you? Seriously?
not programmed for interaction.
I read this as "Listeraction". Yes, I'm a very sad case.
"Try to sleep through to next month's smegging quota. Nothing ever happens around here..." his voice trailed off as he left the room.
That's my boy. So totally.
stepped into his boots, and stumbled up to the midsection, his bootlaces undone.
Ditto.
"What do you know?" Lister asked, exasperated.
"That I don't care." Cat grinned, then turned back to the viewscreen.
Wonderful Cat.
it makes them... interact... able.
*giggle*
Listser worrying about Rimmer... So sweet, and prefectly subtle.
I don't know what it is about Lister saying "ma'am", but by Gods, I love it...
Dan, who had been on the other end of that spur, stepped forward and slammed his fist into the goon's face.
That, and the whole Dan-to-the-rescue sequence - *dies*
Lister ripped off the helmet with a gasp. Beside him, Rimmer did likewise, and they both glared at Kryten
I totally saw this. Beautiful.

Listeraction! It goes well with Rimmercourse.
Yes, although it would make everyone who knows me laugh uproariously, I do dig subtle. ;)
I liked it, too - when they're in the bar, and he says, "Three shots of gulpin' whiskey, ma'am." :D
Heh, that was one of the mental images that made me write this. ;)
Thanks for the feedback!

Date: 2006-07-05 06:54 pm (UTC)And now for a coherent review:
Brett laughed. "I haven't seen him in years. Good one in a fight, but terrible with the cards and the ladies. We parted ways." Brett frowned. "State he's in, innit?"
Eee heee hee. Brett/Dan rocks my socks. And that description of Dan/Rimmer is accurate. ;)
Dan gave her a sad look, then turned to Brett. His unsteady stare took the man in, and recognition filtered very slowly into him. "I... know you..."
Of course you do. Give the man a hug.
"Hell," he grunted, as Dan started to breathe in a quiet, whiffly snore, "trouble just follows you like a lost puppy, doesn't it?"
This entire scene was adorable. All of it.
Dan, who had been on the other end of that spur, stepped forward and slammed his fist into the goon's face.
I agree with
and they both glared at Kryten
*joins in the glaring* Bad Kryten! Bad!
the hologram had locked himself very firmly in his room.
Now break down the door. Or slip notes under it. Make Rimmer see the truth.
Great job! Gunmen was always one of my favorite episodes, and now it's even better. You rock.

Date: 2006-07-06 12:17 am (UTC)*blush* Thank you muchly! I love Gunmen, too, and I am so delighted that they did it. Hell, I would love to see them go back in IX. Provided we have holo-Rimmer back. :D

Date: 2006-07-06 05:56 am (UTC)I love the exasperated reactions to Lister's favorite use of AR, I love the way Brett and Dan are characterized and their relations to Lister and Rimmer, and I love Brett/Dan. ::drools::
The only thing that bothered me was that their kiss seemed to come out of nowhere--I'd have liked to see a little more foreshadowing and/or surprise over their own reactions.
I'm eagerly waiting for a sequel. Great job! (Also, this has inspired me to work on expanding my drabble. It still refuses to include the sexing up of Dangerous Dan, unfortunately...)
