I have taken on The Starbuggers for [livejournal.com profile] fanfic100. I really like VI; I think things came to a head in that series. All of the characters were stuck together in a small space and were very much getting to each other to an unprecedented extent, and especially between Rimmer and Lister, tension went sky-high. But Rimmerworld and Out Of Time changed Rimmer immensely, and between VI and VII, something changed between those two. I love speculating on what that was, and on what happened in the gaps between the episodes.

Takes place between Legion and Gunmen of the Apocalypse. General spoilers up through the latter.

Do you... need something from him?

Little damn table.

Like I mentioned elsewhere, lovely fic. Shouldn't the title be "Rachel", though?

Ohhh, very nice--you really captured the tension between them well. I'm not a fan of VI as a whole (besides Gunmen), but there's a lot of great stuff in the Rimmer/Lister dynamic (and I especially love seeing just post-Legion Rimmer).

Thought you'd poke in and see her behind my back again?
Ah, theirs is a love triangle for the ages. :D

I loved that Lister was concerned for Rimmer, even if he couldn't admit it to anyone. Great tension between them! Great characterization -- and you really got me in the vunerable bits at the end. Great job!

Fantastic Lister in this. I love the idea of you writing VI btw. :)

but there was only so much one could do with asteroidal lichen.
I'm sure there's a cookbook somewhere.

Would that be such a bad thing? part of his mind asked. He told that part of his mind to shut it.
Good boy!

Rimmer's empty room! Never fails to grab me...

is it, Rimmer?"
Ooooh! Oooooh! He's on thin ice now! Hah!

...And then out comes Kochanski. Yup. *shakes head*

Lister yelled, pulling his knife out of the pocket of his overalls and flipping the blade open.
Oh, good one! Caught me completely off guard, but not because it was OOC. I love when Lister surprises me. :) Well done indeed.

Ooh! I'm looking forwards to more from this table. (And anything from VI is great, too!)

"I think I got it to your lordship's standards."

Irritated Lister...I like the nod to the peanuts he left in the seats last time. ;)

But Lister was not certain he trusted the by-hand upgrade Legion had done when composed of the four of them

Now there's an interesting concept. What if Rimmer's hard-light drive failed? Hmm.

"Denial ain't just another river on a nonexistent unstable middle-eastern country, is it, Rimmer?"

Any Egypt jokes you can get out of that are priceless. ^_^

And the knife-man Lister...Mmm. Scary. Lister liked being the knife-man in Gunmen, didn't he? This was fun to read. Good job!
