eviltigerlily. Remember that request-a-drabble thing I did awhile ago? Well, here you go. It's longer than a drabble, but with these characters I couldn't resist. It's not really slashy, but more of a brotherly hate/love thing.

A slight tilt, then a nod. “Very well. You may stay.”
“Thank you.” William smiled and dropped his bag, tiredly pleased at the victory. “I’ll sleep on the couch, or am I too offensive for that?”
Sebastian narrowed his eyes, but said nothing. He would not let his brother bait him like that. This was his home, and this was his country. Unfortunately, William could and would invade his home at will – none of his guards would dare to stop his brother.
“’Bastian, I’ll be gone in the morning. Stop looking at me like that.” William was the only person Sebastian would ever let live after addressing him in such casual terms. However, if their father hadn’t made them swear not to harm each other, William Doyle would not be breathing. Sebastian wasn’t an honorable man, but he respected his father, and it was that respect that kept William Doyle alive. “You’re considering killing me again, right?”
“Yes.” William smiled. Even if it was the truth, William knew Sebastian would never go through with his plans. Not unless he pushed too hard, and he had long ago figured out when to stop talking.
“Strangulation, again? Or is it the knives?”
“Bullets.”
“But you left your gun in the kitchen. I could leave by the time you got to it.”
“I know.”
“Oh ho. You locked the doors, right? I’m trapped in here.”
“No, William.”
“Then what is it? Are you actually giving me a chance?” William took off his coat and hung it on the coat-hook. “Or…you want me to run? It’s a sniper rifle, right?”
At this, a smile flickered across Sebastian’s face. “You know me too well, William. Yes, it is.”
“Wonderful! Do I get a prize?” Sebastian always found it interesting at how much sarcasm William could inject into such innocent words, all while keeping the tone light. Despite the silly hairstyle, William did have the potential to be as deadly as he was. Unfortunately, (or fortunately – Sebastian didn’t need a brother to compete with for power) William had no interest in the political power games Sebastian played.
“…I’ll consider it.”
“And while you do that, I’ll be in the kitchen.” William darted into the kitchen, and Sebastian barely had time to return to his office when William darted back out with some sandwiches. “Aie! Don’t go yet. We haven’t talked about the streets yet!”
“…Fine.” Sebastian turned around and sat down in the leather chair he had had placed by his office door. “I know you’ve been helping the poor voters again. Hiding them from my agents. Is there a reason as to why you’re defying me?” He always asked this. Always. Every time William dropped by, Sebastian had to ask. William wasn’t acting as a terrorist, or anything that dangerous, but as a minor irritant. Sebastian didn’t mind letting him roam the streets like he did, but these actions were a waste of his time.
“It’s the same one as last time.” William dug into the sandwich he had prepared. “It’s for fun. Seeing the expressions on your agent’s faces when they realize who I am…” He chuckled.
“It’s foolishness.”
“It’s fun.” William looked up from his sandwich. “Would you stop me?”
Sebastian didn’t answer. It was the same conversation that they always had. The answers were always the same. Perhaps, this time, he would sit out his part.
“And I’ll keep at it. You know I’m not overthrowing your rule. Besides, if I wanted to stop you, I would already be done.”
“Stop.” He tired of this. William knew he didn’t need to make threats.
“Fine.”
Sebastian got up and entered his office, and this time William didn’t stop him.

Date: 2006-09-02 10:29 am (UTC)if their father hadn’t made them...
Acording to the episode they had the same mother, and different fathers. Of course, it's perfectly possible that the same man brought them both up, just thought I'd mention it.
Thank you! *bows*

Date: 2006-09-03 12:39 am (UTC)I see your point. Fortunately, I've already thought up an explaination. Say Billy's father was the first(? maybe she had more before him, but no children) husband his mother had, and then his father died/was a one-night stand/mysterious circumstances surrounding his death/etc so his Mom picked up Sebastian's father somewhere/somehow. (I have this idea of the Mom being high-up in government, and of course she goes after powerful men for husbands. She's very ambitious, I think.) Sebastian's father isn't around, for this story, as he died. (I'm not sure of what yet) The mother's dead now, too, but I'm not going to go into that. (I see Sebastian rising to governmental power quickly at an early-ish age, and while at first acting as his father's son, quickly moved to replace his father as head of power. Perhaps the mother was caught in the cross-fire?)
So Sebastian's father brought them both up. Sorry for the ramble. ;)
I think I'll want to write them again, so don't be surprised if you see more of these guys. (And perhaps I can work in the incest, next time?)
Thanks!
