What sort of Red Dwarf-related sites do you all visit? For example:
Is there a wiki? (I'm considering this as a 20th anniversary project if there isn't, or if there is but it's outdated/poorly maintained.)
Is there a screencap site? (Also considering this.)
Is there a fiction archive (other than the one I launched a few years ago which I broke and then it died? I am in the process of creating one of these which will this time hopefully not die.)

I used to visit the fanclub boards daily(til our membership lapsed) and the official site about once a week. As far as archives, just the one you did and the RDSS/RDHS yahoo groups and the LJ comm.

Screencap site would definitely be good. I need a RD icon again. I should look at my old backup cds cause I know I had some Rimmer icons at one point.

I just screencapped the first season of Chuck and was amazed at how easy it was once I found a good program. It shouldn't be much more difficult to do the same thing with RD. Might take longer because there's more episodes, but that's no big deal.

Is there a wiki? I googled for 'red dwarf wiki' and got many different entries in other wikis about Red Dwarf, but didn't see an actual wiki for Red Dwarf.

A screencap site would be great, and I'd be willing to contribute caps. I go to cbarriepictures and ccharlespics which are very helpful, but it would be nice to have screencaps with all characters all in one place. :)

G&T (http://www.ganymede.tv/) is a damn good site that is updated regularly, sometimes everyday, with news and stuff.

Stuff being anything from 'News directly related to any of the cast' to 'a bit of info about Bobby's neighbour Fred'.
There is a space beneath each news item for people to comment. There is a lively and very active community happening there.

They Also have there own 'wiki' project, but last I checked, by the team's own admittance, it hasn't gotten very far. I'm sure they'd welcome a willing volunteer, but don't quote me on that.

As far a picture archive, nope not seen one.
If you were wanting to set one up, I've been meaning to cap the DVDs for a while myself, and if your planning separate areas for the cast then I'll be happy to share my Brittas caps. If and when I ever make them ;)

No idea on Fic sites.

I will probly end up capping all eps my self as I want to challenge myself to try an Icons100 with Gordon or maybe even a full Mood theme and I find I get inspired better when I cap and Sort myself.

But Thank you for the offer/info.

Team capping could be fun, as I said above though, I have no idea when I'll get round to it. Capping's easy, it's just the sorting I find hard work.

I always cap way too much, and then have to cut the number of caps down so much (to get rid of similar shots). That takes a bit of work. :P

I tend to Cap on Mass, I have some fab software that I just set to say, every 25th frame and leave it and will do the Whole DVD. That's alot of caps. Sorting then become both fun and tedious in turns.

I guess that's what makes it difficult though, since it's hard to delete the prettiness. :( The first step's easy, getting rid of blurry ones.

There's ccharlespics and cbarriepictures, both of which are mainly Red Dwarf, though they are dedicated to the gentlemen Charles and Barrie respectively.

I'm just about to update ccharlespics with some Pete caps, btw. Not that I'm shamelessly plugging or anything. :p

Yeah as phoenix_iz_me said G&T is pretty comprehensive. That lot is thick as theives with Andrew Ellard and GNP folks so they have a lot of news.

I mostly come here and to RDSS for Red Dwarf slash, which is what I'm mostly interested in since news in this fandom is relatively slow, understandably.

I have no idea how to do a wiki, but a good example of a fan wiki for anyone interested in making one is the one for Lost..I think it's called Lostpedia. It's also very extensive as far as information. It would be worth taking a look at if you're interested in making your own wiki.
