When it got to him - the sheer, endless tediousness of it all - Rimmer knew he would always have one thing to keep him going.

Lists.

He took careful, meticulous note of all the things that annoyed him, and divided them into numbered bullet points in neat, copperplate handwriting.

He made lists of Holly's mistakes. He made lists of all the shortages in supplies no one else seemed to notice. He indexed his lists, and made a list of them.

He worshipped lists.

He made lists about Lister, trying not to think about exactly what was in a name.
