I've heard that a girl did indeed ask Chris about slash, but I wasn't actually there so I'm afraid I can't elaborate. But I did hear that she asked none-too-gently ;)

He did, but only because someone asked him if he knew what it was. Chris, intrigued, then uttered "tell me all about Red Dwarf Slash!"

The woman replied that it was about "Rimmer - you, right - and Lister, right, getting it on." *sic*

Chris took it well though, being his usual baffled, slightly confused, yet utterly polite self.

IMHO, sunny_bexster made a much better (and politer) job of it when she very delicately asked about it, and explained what it was, in 2006.

It was never my intention to thrust the issue of slash into his face. I was initally just wondering about fan fic. The conversation just ended up in Man-loves Ville and it seemed like too good an opportunity to pass up.

I did also say sorry afterwards. He said it was okay...his eyes said otherwise.

Oh, Chris seems perpetually baffled and slightly scared of many aspects of fandom. I think he was just confused about it, and it caught him unawares.

Yes, I did ask Chris in a very non-subtle manner about slash, I do believe kahvi's description is accurate :-) and I am rather amused at how many people seem to know of this!

I have written a few slashes (Red Dwarf with the occasional Blackadder thrown in) and some poems - just to deviate for a second, Craig Charles' writes amazing poetry; thank you for asking that :-) - but I haven't posted any (as of yet anyway). I'm far more of a reader/hoarder :-)

I joined a while back :)
I ran in little circles going "squeeeee" when I heard that someone had told him about it. theres normally a lot of flapping around and squeeling with me when Chris Barrie is involved.
