Plot-bunny Holoship

oh I've just been hit by a plot-bunny *evil laugh* it hit me while I was watching Holoship:
Ok what if Rimmer did leave Red Dwarf with the holo-crew. then 3 years later meets back up with the Dwarfer's who have done everything like in the series but without Rimmer & yes Kochanski would come into it slightly sooner, he safes Lister & tells him how he feels towards him. The old crew soon realise that Rimmer has returned & that he can touch them thanks to his hard-light drive (but not coz of Legion) in that time he's slowly become something close to Ace (no wildfire).

if anyone want to use this idea... feel free :D

Ok in the episode Holoship what if Rimmer did leave Red Dwarf with the holo-crew. Then 3 years later the Holoship finds the new Red Dwarf around a planet with most of the crew are very injured or dead. Over the 3 years the holo-crew have changed a little they come abroad Red Dwarf to help them. While the Holograms are fixing parts of the ship, Lister is the first to see the hologram-Rimmer. It’s been so long since the two saw each other that Lister, Kryten and Cat are all shocked to see the change in the hologram and are wondering what happen to him over the last 3 years. Also the old crew soon realise that Rimmer has returned & that he can touch them thanks to his hard-light drive (holograms found Legion not the Dwarfer’s)
