OK, since RD is now into filming and such, and with it being the holiday season, it's time for all us Dwarf fans to say what we wish to see in the new season's episodes (whether it happens or no). So, help me out - say in the comments what YOU hope Doug & Co. have written into the scripts, or hope the actors may be able to ad-lib into the filming.

Me, I hope they somehow include Mike McGruder; that would be awesome, IMO. I also hope they explain holo-Rimmer post-S8 (I still hope it hearkens back to my personal fanon about Ace-Arn, LOL). It'd be nice if they came across another Cat, too!

2. One whole episode on Starbug. (like Marooned. My favourite episode.)
3. Groinal Attachment Jokes. I think I'm the only one who thought those were down right funny.
4. A Character-centric episode for each character. (I wanna know where cat goes all the time.)

1. Please, please be funny (I'm sure the audience will help).
2. An improvement in the Rimmer / Lister relationship (I know they're not going to fall in love on the show. That doesn't mean they can't get closer).
3. An appearance by Jim and / or Bexley.
4. An episode developing Cat's character is way overdue.
5. Plus everything that's already been mentioned.

I would also love to see some backstory/explaining about Rimmer - specifically of course, which Rimmer is he?

I've wanted to see a female cat for ages (must be 17 years or so) I have a personal theory that, like domestic cats, female cats are probably less flashy and territorial and Cat would actually be a little bit disappointed if he met one.

Also if they could squeeze in both Hollys somehow and Tony Hawks in a role where he has to sing, my excitement will be complete.

Hm...

If they're on the Dwarf, then yes on the explanation of which Rimmer we're seeing, or at the very least how he survived/didn't survive S8. If they're on Starbug...I don't know. Something is telling me they're not, that it'll be based on Red Dwarf. If that's true, then explore down in the Cat City on the lower decks (or was that only mentioned in the books) and let Cat find a Lady Cat. Poor Cat needs some love besides himself!

Agreed with the less-about-Kochanski angst. It felt really forced to me in the 2009 special.

We need to see Bexley and Jim on the ship, considering they were mentioned in "Future Echoes". Which means dimension jumping which means...do we get a return of Ace? Possibly bringing the boys/teenagers onto Red Dwarf to carry on the legacy of Lister, possibly?

What happened to the crew of RD after S8? Did I totally space out or did they just drift away in the midgets/starbugs?

It'll be too depressing, but a conversation about how they're getting older and how they see the rest of their lives playing out. Cat and Lister, we know we're going to lose, eventually. What would Rimmer and Kryten do? Would Rimmer want to go on, or ask Kryten to shut him off?

Doug said on his Twitter that we'll see both Red Dwarf and Starbug.

It's confusing because of the alternate endings, but I believe the crew escaped in various pods, apart from the prisoners and Lister, Kochanski, Cat and Kryten.

Something akin to the bunkroom discussions in seasons 1 and 2. I love the whole dynamic of just Lister, Rimmer and a conversation which is a little futile and stupid, but they're having it anyway.

I really did not like Series 8 and although I was so glad they got back for "Back to Earth", it was a great premise, but just not too funny. Hoping the studio audience will add the spice back.

I really wish Hologram-Rimmer would come back, like everyone else says. And a Cat episode is WAYYY overdo. Hoping some of the Rimmer/Lister love will reappear, and I really miss the days of the first 6 seasons. :P Hoping they can recapture the m agic, at least for me...
