Okay, so the official RD Facebook page has another of those backshot photos posted today - you know, showing absolutely nothing of any substance, but it's kind of artsy and dammit, I like it anyway.

I'm not a FB member, but I do like scoping the wall to see what new stuff goes up, and over the past few weeks I've learned a whole new level of entertainment clicking to read the comments. There's happiness; there's bitching and groaning; there's a whole little subculture going on there. Some of the funnier ones from today that I noticed just briefly:

"Why is everyone dismissing the obvious talent of Tripod in this scene? Is it because he's got a similar build to Eisel? Cup is a talentless scene stealer I tells ya!"

"God I hope kris isn't in this, this series should be them in deep space still, the series is never meant to be anything but a comedy, adding too much plot will draw the focus away from the humour, thank god for rimmer, that man could make a period drama hilarious."

(Ed: I concur on the final point)

"Not fussed about the sets... Just make the fucker funny again."

"When you have a gap the size they had between 8 and 9 its hard to keep it the same, must be the only person who actually liked s9..don't get me wrong it wasn't as good but dam it was nice to see some new dwarf."

(Ed: Again, I have to concur)

So, does anyone else know/have anything new from today? Isn't this another night of filming at Shepperton, or am I off on my dates?

This was just posted on TOS:

[quote="KingRichard76"]Today started of with me travelling from Southend to Liverpool Street then to Bank then to Waterloo- right at the last minute (literally two minutes before my Train was ready to depart to Shepperton a Friend of mine - those who were coming with me texted and said if I got on the train to go to Epsom he'd pick me up so quickly got off the Train and got onto an-)

Enough of this.

We drove to Shepperton and had got there a little bit early so we took advantage of getting a rather fabulous Photo :) Soon to be my profile pic on here.

Got into the gates and directed to the multistorey carpark then we were escorted to the holding area and I chose then to unleash the full contents of my bladder- did this before our numbers were called.

There was such a HUGE buzz of excitement as we made our way over to Stage K and once through the doors I couldnt help but make noises of extreme enthusiasm when we saw glimpses of the set and then made our way to our seats.

At this point - and I know its been said before, but Red Dwarf has really gone back to its roots, its almost as though BTE never existed or maybe it did and Doug saw the Fanbases response and seriously knuckled down because what I saw tonight kicked Series seven and eight WAY out of the ballpark- only those who've been to this or the other two recordings will know exactly what I mean and very soon so will the rest of you who'll be seeing this.

The warm up man commented about just how loyal the Fanbase was and what happened there, and then Mr. Doug Naylor came out and reiterated what has been said before.

"I fought with Dave to get an Audience."

And by God do the Boys LOVE the Audience, the performance I was most impressed by was Craig Charles he has seriously matured as an Actor, (I remember him constantly larking about with Bobby when filming Rimmerworld) but there was hardly any of that in tonights recording, Danny was Fantastic as usual, Bobby (as mentioned by others) comes out in Full character and Chris a true genius.

Laughs came from everything from Danny Smegging up hysterically, to remarks of a creaky bit of Camera equipment by Mr. Barrie.

The laughs werent forced, the laughs came from the fact that the Audience (some came from Norway... Some from Aberdeen and that poor Audience member who went to the bog only to come back unbeknownst to him the Warmup man had asked about his Girlfriend- the warmup man did what he could to entertain us... I wonder if the dude on the front row ever got his footwear back.

Anyways the storyline tonight as already been mentioned by Andrew is going to be very much talked about when it airs, and indeed one of the best and most funniest, well acted scenes was seen tonight (I'm just hoping they keep in our first reaction - those who were there will know exactly what I'm talking about)

One of the biggest rounds of applause came when Chris fluffed a line and honoured us by doing his wonderful Kenneth Williams impression - naturally we were in awe of this.

Everything I saw tonight was nothing short of brilliant. Theres more I could say but tonight was incredible and I will say this (and its not an exaggeration) with what we saw tonight I wouldn't be surprised if there was a TWELFTH Series - because the Acting, Writing, spot on Comic Timing and of course the Ideas and the Writing is there.

The Boys are most definitely back.

I recognise his enthusiasm - just like my own a few weeks ago. :D
