Well, everybody else on the ElJay is waving their hands and running about Kermit-style over "Sherlock," which I haven't yet seen and won't for a little while, because my brain can only hold so much entertainment at one time.

I do, however, have feelings and flails and general bibbity-boo nonsense about Red Dwarf (as I also posted to my own journal), if anyone cares. For fellow fans, a new behind the scenes video posted to the Facebook site today.

The back of the blondish head in the lower right corner ... could it be Michael McGruder? I'd almost guess Ace, but the hair isn't quite long or red enough, IMO. Though, the shoulder set reminds me very much of Ace ... but there's just something about the figure that makes me think it's not.

But the kid? Maybe. He was a Naylor invention, after all. (Yes, I've brought this up before. I really, really want this character in the series. I think it'd be kind of awesome, in a just-passing-through sort of way, though.)

I know, this is a slash list. But it's about the only place I have seen any good in-depth discussion lately aside from reading G&T forums, and I don't know any of those posters. Don't hit me, Mod!

I so want some form of the Michael McGruder storyline in the show too!

I want McGruder in the story, too. But what has surprised me was Bobby Llewellyn had had two audioboo's up and he took them down. :( I think it might have been because there was a picture of him in the new Kryten mask. *oops*

There's a pic of it here though, plus detailed descriptions of the boos. :)

I listened to them this morning before they disappeared. They were quite fascinating.

I didn't think he was. But why the surname, then?

I don't have a clue. Maybe far along somewhere in his family tree there is Welsh. *shrugs*

It's not his real last name, though. His real one is "Brown". :-)

Yup, his full name is Christopher Jonathan Brown.

It's not a horrible last name at least it's easy to spell. :-)

I found out from a friend, then I also saw it on Wikipedia. Also If you look on a website for the Village he lives in (Cookham, BTW. )You can find a picture of One Aleks Brown. Who on another website is listed as Mrs. Chris Barrie. He chose Barrie because of Equity reasons... When he joined there was another Actor already using the name Chris Brown.

I swear I am not stalking the man. I was researching for the RPF story I am writing.

Am I the only person on LJ who isn't particularly interested in "Sherlock"? It feels that way at the moment. ;)

I would also like to see Michael McGruder in the show. Please note this doesn't mean that I haven't. Or that I have. I'm not confirming or denying anything. :)

I thought if I avoided the topic people might read things into it. I can't win really.

I honestly wasn't trying to rub it in. :)

"Uphill gardener" is about the only one on that list I've never heard. Must be pretty obscure.

I thought you were taking the piss. I just didn't want to seem as though I'm teasing people on purpose. ;)

I just have too much to keep up with at the moment and am trying desperately to NOT take on new stuff right now in an effort to clear my brain to write some stuff again. ARGH.

I was saying the same thing to myself... but cracked, today, and watched the first ep of series 2 and now want more. *sigh* Still, I know it'll be some time before I get more, so I really need to get off my ass and do some writing.

Here's the audioboo Robert recorded today with Craig trying out his new I-Pad. Robert's going to be interviewing other members of the cast as well. :)

Robert has one up with his Man in the Rubber mask Audioboo with Craig listening to himself on his ipad later. It was so funny cause Craig called him a "sad, middle aged, middle class twat." Then he plays some of the radio program while making fun of the way Robert dances. It's funny.

You do have to pay five pounds which something like seven something US but with that you get all 12 of his Man in the Rubber mask chapters currently up and You'll end up with all his new Chapters too. *nods*

Yes, it's an unmissable offer really. I'm probably going to go for it. I'm old-fashioned, though - I like a book I can actually hold. But I suppose if enough of us buy the audiobook it might get published eventually.

It was worth it just to hear how him and Chris would pass in the hall and make weird sounds at each other as greetings.

One of the countless extras on the "Bodysnatcher Collection" is an audio clip of Rob and Doug talking about how they basically saved the show after a poorly received first series and then got screwed over. The RD relevance is that Doug blames Rob's reaction to that - refusing to write for several months in between Series 1 and 2 - for some of what he sees as weaknesses in the early shows.

Sorry, that wasn't very clear. Yes, I'm referring to the poorly received first series of "Spitting Image". After coming in as writers on the next few series of SI and turning it into a ratings hit (this is their version of the story, obviously), Rob and Doug had been promised they could be producers.

This promise was withdrawn and Rob felt so cheated and pissed off by that that (according to Doug) he wanted a few months to get his head together. This was the summer between the initial abortive attempt to film Series 1 (called off because of the electricians' strike) and the remount the next year. (Not Series 1 and 2, that was my mistake.)

Doug feels that both of them "didn't spend that summer as wisely as we might have done" and could have spent more time polishing Series 1. They actually did write "Me2" almost a year later, which ended up replacing "Bodysnatcher". Doug feels "Me2" was significantly better because they now knew the actors' strengths and could play to them. He thinks if they'd had more time they could have replaced "Waiting For God" which they both hate. He wasn't exactly blaming Rob, more explaining.

I should have saved this for the post I'm currently writing about the "Bodysnatcher Collection". ;)

Post coming in the next couple of days - there's more to it than you might think. :)

I haven't had time to listen to "Rubber Mask" yet, but plan to ASAP.
