Technically, this isn't really new RDX stuff, but I'm sure there are those of you who may not know about this already, sooo ... Robert Llewellyn updated his audiobook "The Man in the Rubber Mask" with a new chapter today. If you aren't already subscribed and you have a credit or debit card, I highly recommend it - it's only 4.99 Pounds (don't have the little keyboard symbol handy, but it's British, about $7.60 American, roughly) and that's for all the chapters that already exist PLUS any new ones he adds - and he will be adding more. You can find the channel here.

This is a great book, Robert's account of the inner workings of Red Dwarf from the time he was hired on for the third season. Originally it was only published through his first couple or three seasons on the show, but he's updated it since it was published in the 90s (the audio version, that is) with new chapters over the last several months, and he says he's going to come up through present-day eventually. Each chapter is around a half-hour, give or take, and he tells great stories about his own background and career, interspersed with the development of each season itself from an actor's POV. And, of course - there are stories about the other lads you will enjoy greatly. Hear about Craig's and Danny's late-night clubbing! Hear about Chris, his cars, and their effect on women! (And may I say, his impersonations of Craig Charles are hilarious and nearly spot-on.)

As for RDX spoilers, unless his latest chapter is about that - and I don't think it is just yet - there are none that I know of.

The new one details the trials they had about the Almost Red Dwarf Movie and the Audio Commentary for the DVD's. It's actually quite interesting. I'm looking forward to the next chapter. :-)

I haven't listened to this new one yet but the rest was great - i listened to the whole first book in one sitting after already having no sleep. It's really funny.

I've wondered for a while whether to post about this here, given the lack of slash, but what the hell. This is of interest to any RD fan. :) Enjoyed the latest chapter. :D

Anyone in need of slash can read yesterday's innuendo overload. ;)

"I'm glad I got a Chinese body and an African cock, and not the other way round" - I can't believe Robert put that in the book! *Lol*

I wonder if it was Craig's boasting that caused Rob and Doug to write that scene in "Bodyswap". ;)

Spookily, I watched "Duct Soup" last night (well, I am doing a whole series rewatch). This ep is basically Craig's "Terrorform" in terms of bodily exposure - he starts it sweaty and topless, then the onesie. :o

I'm glad it's not just me. ;)

I've been curious about this for awhile--does anyone know if Bobby's reading straight from Man in the Rubber mask, so it's essentially just an audio book--or is he adding anecdotes to it?

I'm definitely going to buy it for the RDX chapters when they come out :D

I don't have the original book, so I can't say for sure, but I think he's just updated some references. Of course all the new chapters mean the book will eventually be about twice as long. :)

He's pretty much reading straight from the book but with a few amendments/updates. In the original book he does make reference to Craig's nickname among the cast being 'the prince of packet' and why - but the quote about his African cock is new :-)
