I think [livejournal.com profile] janamelie might have had the last update, so I'm taking a turn whether I deserve it or not!

First, there's a new clip up today from Episode 6 that I as a L/R 'shipper find hilarious. (Credit goes to gazpachosoup.com for all of these, BTW, even below)

From the Twittersphere, some goodies. A non-spoilery magazine cover from TV & Satellite Week (a magazine I don't get here). The spoilery guts are in the article here, though if you can read all that I think you should become an airline pilot. (Just don't roll down the windows!)

Another article on the boys, which doesn't seem to me very spoilery, but YMMV. It's just on how they work together and having a bit of fun, really.

Finally, it looks like GS is working to cement its place in RD fandom with a podcast about the upcoming season, and are seeking your thoughts on spoilers, reviews, hopes, fears, thoughts ... whatever.

Go ahead, I've had a tiring day. ;)

I like this clip - it's nice to see Lister entrust Rimmer with a task, even if he doesn't give him a choice in the matter. I gather the situation's urgent, so that makes sense.

Re the Gazpacho podcast - they're doing it later today, so people will need to be quick. Maybe Kelly could e-mail them about what she wants to see? ;)

Yes, despite Rimmer's claims in "Holoship", we know who's really the leader. ;)

And the fact that Lister would balk at that choice of words is one of the things I like best about him. :)

I've been thinking about it. Not sure what I'd say, exactly, though. "I want to see Jim and Bexley come back" hardly does my excitement justice...watch a balloon fill up and release it and watch it zing around the room and that more accurately shows how I feel whenever I think about what I want to see :D

Smeg, I think I'm in need of a double-lobotomy and ten rolls of rubber wall paper.

Craig can't stay away from those Loose Women, can he? They love him!

I seem to remember him saying he has a bit of a crush on Carol Vorderman. ;)

I read the article from TV & Satellite Week, though I think all that squinting has given me a headache...

Excellent clip, too. Someone on G&T is claiming that Craig wrote that gag and Doug put it into the show (probably with a bit of tweaking).

Someone on TOS is claiming the opposite. Not that it matters, but the cast all contributed to the scene in "Polymorph" where they've all lost their emotions, so it wouldn't be that surprising.

I feel a little behind...they did?

It's mentioned on the commentary for the Remastered version of "Polymorph" on the "Bodysnatcher Collection". Doug was careful to emphasise that he and Rob still wrote the scene, but Chris, for example, had a hand in imagining anger-free Rimmer.

I did an article a few months ago about "Bodysnatcher", if you want a link. :)

Thanks! Reading the GT review, I want to see Bodysnatchers even MORE. Do you think it'll ever make it to the US?

The link inside of the post just goes back to the latest of your journal.

I'll keep my eyes out for it. And a region 2 dvd player. And maybe "Beat the Geek", because I always wanted to cream my family with my RD knowledge. :P

You can search amazon.com for a region free Dvd player. I got mine for about $40. Mind you it was last years Christmas present and I have used it more then my bluray player. *grins*

$40 is a lot for me, since I don't have a job. But once I do, I'll live large and buy myself one. lol Or ask for a christmas/Birthday present. :P

I'm not even going to ask why your husband can't buy it for the family.

Here's a little cheaper one. http://www.amazon.com/Sony-DVP-SR320-Multi-Region-Player/dp/B007Y76JAM/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1348609440&sr=8-9&keywords=region+free+dvd+player
Or this one

The Samsung I got went up to $50.

You may not ask, but I'll answer. (Sorry to further derail the thread.)

He just recently got a job, and while he's making a lot, we have a lot of bills and he has a TON of loans to pay back, not to mention his stupid impulse buys, so that I'm lucky if he takes me out to dinner sometimes. At the moment, he's paying the bills, and I'm using my savings to buy my own groceries. :( Hopefully it'll get better, though knowing him, he won't buy it since he doesn't have anything specific he wants to watch that's Region 2. We're very my money-your money, which I know is not good, and I'm trying to transition into "our" money, though it's hard when I don't have a job to contribute.

Thank you for the links!

Tell him the Doctor Who BBC copies are better. and If he likes Engines all the Chris Barrie's Massive series and Greatest Machines are only region 2. And that's also the only way to get The Brittas Empire. Sorry I am a bit Chris Barrie mad. :-)

I got lucky with the Laptop offer. Dad wanted to give me a Bonus for working for him for a year. And he said he was in a really damn good mood 'cause we got done with the Barn at 9:30 AM today.

If that clip is any indication, That DVD isn't going to get here soon enough. :-)

Love that clip. Lister entrusts Rimmer with something important. <3 Probably all the RISK he plays will come in handy, if he can roll dice. ;) Maybe that's our Ace back, who has some experience, and that's why Lister trusts him. *crosses fingers*

I've liked most of the clips, actually, except for maybe one, so it looks like it's going to be a good season. I can't believe it's almost here. I hope I can find someplace to watch it.

I thought Kryten's towel-folding was funny and in IC, but the usual suspects are grumbling about pantomime Series 8 stuff. Weird how people can have such different opinions of a brief clip.

If the clip is any indication of the quality of the series, My DVD is NOT going to get here soon enough.
