This was an amazing fic, I mean it. This was such a unique idea, and Lister having homework for his first date with Rimmer just had me in stitches. And I'm a huge fan of Red Dwarf, and have read tons of fan fic of course. But I never do get used to them calling each other by their first names. :P And I loved the alternate ending!

It was a lot harder to write from Lister's POV; usually I write from Rimmer's. and to have Lister chasing after Rimmer - definitely double work! Glad you liked it. It does feel funny writing their first names, since I think they've only called each other "Dave" and "Arnold" once (and the Arnold was in Lister's dream from Blue). but when they get to intimacy, I can't see them still using their surnames.

This is really sweet. It makes a change for a pre-accident fic to show Rimmer having something nice happen to him. AU of course, but why not? ;)

I also liked the fact that homophobia didn't rear its ugly head at all. It doesn't always have to be an issue. :)

I don't think I've ever written characters reacting to seeing m/m or f/f together. Indivdual characters may have personal issues with it, but my characters (all of them) live in a world where homophobia doesn't exist :)

Well, in order for Lister to be jealous, Rimmer had to be with someone already. I didn't know who until about halfway through the story. Rimmer was keeping that info close :) Glad you liked!

Loved this - cant help but wonder if Jacob is a distant relative of one Professor Hubert Farnsworth? I've always wanted to write a Red Dwarf/Futurama Crossover :-)
