Chapter 5: Touch, Peel, Stand

Date: 2013-04-08 04:17 am (UTC)So were you imagining the Boyz in slightly more elaborate versions of their "Gunmen" costumes?
Not more elaborate - a lot less! Just the hats and boots for them both. Chaps were added for them, and Rimmer got to wear the duster. No shirts for either of them. I couldn't figure out a way to have them wear the thigh holsters, but I sure as smeg wanted them to. I was originally going to have them dance to the cowboy song, then I found Enrique's song and that took over my brain.
I couldn't not have Cat dancing in this; it would have been a crime against humanity. And since the boys were in modified "Gunmen" outfits, Cat's seemed natural. His vanity played into the star diva nicely, too. I almost didn't have Kryten, but if I worked in Cat, I had to include Kryten. I'm still not sure why I picked Todhunter to own the club...I couldn't see Hollister running it, and I wanted to use as many previous characters as we've seen on the show.
I'm not sure where Rimmer's doubt came from. Maybe I needed a breather from Cat's dance and Lister's horniness? I needed to slow it down and that worked nicely. It also served to have that bit of plot in an otherwise plot-less romp :)
One chapter to go!
