There must be a Red Dwarf fan on the review committee for the Oxford English Dictionary. Or I choose to believe there is, anyway - just in time for the 25th year of the show, they have officially added the word 'smeg' to the dictionary.

This is from last week, I think, but I just heard it on the "Stoke Me a Clipper" Introcast uploaded late last night. I wonder if the entry will include a reference to the parent word "smegma?" (Not that I know this is the parent word, but I'm just assuming.)

This is cool. :D

If there are any Texans here who haven't seen RDX yet, it's getting its US premiere there soon: http://www.reddwarf.co.uk/news/2013/06/28/a-new-kera

You have to give the man credit - his career's taking off but he still pushes RD at every opportunity. I have the feeling he'd come back like a shot. :)

I *think* it's supposed to get an entry into the Oxford Dictionary if the word makes a certain number of appearances in popular culture/written culture etc etc over a certain period of time. I *think*.
