Just a public service announcement for those of you waiting for "Saving Santa" for Chris Barrie's voice - he is not in it. Someone else does the voice of Blitzen, not him. That said, it's a cute movie and if you can get it cheap, it's kind of fun for Martin Freeman, Tim Curry, and Tim Conway ... but no Barrie. :-/

Movies do sometimes switch voice actors in different countries. For example in Shrek 2 I know they changed a couple of small parts to English celebrities, obviously thinking it would funnier for UK audiences to have a voice actor they would recognise and relate to. He might still turn up on the UK release.

I know that's possible, but given the character's vocal limitations, I honestly don't think it matters who is doing the voice (read above for my explanation). I could do it and it wouldn't make a difference. Visually it's a cute part, but vocally, it's not much to write home about.
