Can we talk about Howard?

... Burden, that is - costume designer extraordinaire.
Something I noticed upon watching "Time of the Doctor" (do we all know that Howard also designs for Who? Just making sure, first) didn't jump out at me until later when my brain was at loose ends. I don't think this is enough of a spoiler to hide it in a cut, it's such a minor thing and just a trait, not a plot point - but ...
Did anyone else catch on to the "holographic clothes" thing?
And now you know why I posted this here - another show helping verify years of fanon and quasi-canon about Rimmer's wardrobe. :-D
(BTW, there may well be spoilers for the episode in any comments this may get. Be warned.)

Date: 2014-01-03 05:03 pm (UTC)There's a scene where the Doctor is naked for a reason. Clara is uncomfortable with it, so he basically blinks and poof! he's wearing his regular outfit. He tells her he's projecting holographic clothes on her retina so that to her, he looks clothed - when he goes in front of other people with her, they react as if he's naked, because he's not calibrated the image for THEIR eyes.
Then later they both need to be naked to go somewhere, so he gives her a pill to swallow that is a holographic projector - so that though she's naked, she looks clothed, to make herself more comfortable. (It doesn't though, since she still acts as though she's naked, covering her bits and such with her hands, LOL.)
