I was thinking of the sandwich scene, and Rimmer waxing poetic about Lister being all wrong, but all right. Any thoughts where it should go on the list?

Also the moment in Terraform when Kryten tells Lister that more bazookoid fire could start a rockslide that would bury them all and Lister's response is simply 'RELOAD!'

I echo RoseCathy regarding the scene from "Lemons". It's not just that Lister finds out that Rimmer authorised surgery on his behalf, it's also that he just stares in astonishment rather than accusing him of having no right to do that. (If you have problems giffing this, it is actually already on Tumblr and I can find it for you.)

I know deleted scenes don't really count, but an honourable mention to the one from "Only The Good" where Rimmer meets MirrorUniverse!Lister and assumes his counterpart is his lover. MirrorUniverse!Rimmer, even though we never meet him, apparently has everything Rimmer wants. He's well-endowed, the Captain of Red Dwarf - and Rimmer makes a mental leap to add being Lister's lover to that. :D

Where would you place the scene from Lemons on the list?

The deleted scenes are obviously on one of the three Series VIII DVDs. You can go straight to the "OTG" section so it won't take you that long. It's one of VIII's few redeeming features IMO but I know it can't really be counted. Especially as there are other cut scenes from that series which I wish they'd never even shot...

I would personally put "Lemons" tenth but I see what you mean about it being easy to misinterpret. OTOH there are those who would say we're wilfully misinterpreting all the scenes mentioned here and frankly they can go and take a running jump. ;)

I don't know if I completely agree with #1. The scene itself yes, but the hug and the eye-flirting seem far more gut-punchy than the kiss itself.

I would echo this about Blue. Also, I'm not sure "Better Than Life" should be there - it just didn't strike slashy to me, but maybe that's because Rimmer was too busy being desperate not to have more children, LOL. But the others are good.

Good point about Better than Life, it's only really slashy through the help of a very vivid imagination (which I have). ;-)

Any suggestions for a replacement if I cut that one out? With the state-of-the-art sarnie speech and the bit from Lemons I'm up to ten, but with the Better than Life scene removed, I'm still only at nine.

Is there anything particularly slashy during series VIII during the prison bunkroom moments? Or Back to Earth? I feel like I must be missing more from the later series.

OH! Lister's whole speech about missing Rimmer during Blue as well! How could I forget Lister waxing poetic about Rimmer's nostrils? That'll have to go in.

I've probably watched the extended version of the kiss far too much. I forget that in the actual episode it lasts for barely a fraction of a second. You're completely right, the lead-up to the kiss is far more slashy. :)

I have the same "problem", if you can call it that. There is a moment in the build-up where Lister subtly gives Rimmer the once-over which admittedly is sexier and should be included in the gifset if you see fit. ;)

I have to admit, I'm still not 100% sold on the moment from Lemons. I get how it's slashy, but I think it might be the sort of thing where people won't really understand the slashy implications unless they already ship Lister and Rimmer together. It's far too easy to interpret it as Rimmer just being gleeful about having the chance to make Kryten muck about with Lister's insides. It reminds me a bit of the moment in Bodyswap, "But why did you make me chloroform him? And... why did he struggle so?"

If anyone can think of any other moments let me know. I feel there has to be some bits in the more recent episodes that I'm just forgetting since I've not watched them as much as I've watched older episodes.

Also remember, it doesn't just have to be Lister/Rimmer, since I've got Ace and Bongo up there. :)

Well, there is the scene in "Meltdown" where Lister's response to finding out Rimmer has a light bee is to immediately place same in his mouth with very obvious enjoyment. Not the ending, the initial scene. But I suppose that's similar to "Lemons".

Rimmer describing "Stoke Me A Clipper" Ace as looking like a reject from a Gay Pride disco.

I'm not sold on No. 6 really - it's not slashy so much as the reaction any guy might have to getting a size-up in his equipment, or envy of another guy's penis. It doesn't feel any more slashy than them naked together in Pete ... does that make sense?

If you want a subtler one, Lister's reaction to seeing nano-Rimmer in "BITR" before he realises it's him "like you used to be". :)

He really is so happy to see Rimmer "again" in that episode. He doesn't even mind that he's being a total smeghead, really.

If only they'd actually finished and filmed "Dad," none of these other episodes would be necessary to this list.

In all honesty, I don't find the virginity conversation in "Marooned" particualarly slashy. But you know what? We're never all going to agree and as it's your list, do as you please. ;)

Although I have had one more thought which I'll put forward as a suggestion. The conversation between High Lister and High Rimmer: "Have I told thee today how much I love thee, brother?" etc.

It's another ambiguous one which you can take as platonic but IMO it's homoromantic at the very least. :)

I was honestly reaching with the Marooned one. It's just such a generally slashy episode with all the sharing and bonding, I figured something from Marooned ought to feature.

I suppose it is MY list, but I was hoping for it to be representative of the group and not just me. :D

I'm iffy on #5 being slashy, per se, but that just like, my opinion, man. :-P

The other 9 are really primo, though and I have no quibbles. It's really annoying to have to adjust fun stuff to other people's input, so I salute you for putting up with it.
