I did discover this journal fairly recently, may not be up to all you have had here. Firstly I have to say I have greatly enjoyed all the fics recently and my OTP since starting to see this series has been Rimmer/Lister, just so obvious, isn't it? Anyway, I am enjoying my way through the DVDs and watching the documentary on Season 5 was great fun.
The first episodes have this certain outburst of Shirtless!Rimmer. In the documentary this is getting a lot of attention from the other actors, particularly Robert and Craig has some interesting comments. Now they obviously had a real good eye for what Chris looked like with his shirt off ::g:: It is the female that mentions the attractive model on the set, while the guys are enthusing of the sight of all those unexpected muscles. Anyway, I did not have any RPS intentions here, not my thing.
What I was wondering, has anyone written any fics about how Lister may have had a similar reaction? It is particularly interesting in combination with his insistence on blazing away to save Rimmer, and this is before he discovered the importance of Rimmers state of mind for their own survival. It is also interesting to ponder whether Lister knew of Rimmers reasons for leaving the holoship.
