*snort* in a very creepy sort of way.
Sebastian had woken up some hours before Lister that morning
Eep, mommy. That whole split personality thing is muchos creepy. It's really good in a storytelling sort of way but make it stop now. Please?
It was almost a relief, to fall back into the role of a pathetic loser. It felt so natural, so right?
And why is that, I wonder?! Huh, Arn?!
"The last human alive and his dead hologrammatic space-hero companion? He-llo?"
Erm... Make perfect sense to me. Er... Yes.
The whole scene in the cell (damn that's the entire thing isn't it?) was beautiful and heartbreaking. The deep emotion involved is so tangible. Especially when the Lister-Sebastian thing comes into play. And the ending was just... Not the end, damnit! Now for the making it all better, and putting my world right side up again.
And brownie points for using the word kerfuffle.

Date: 2006-11-22 06:30 pm (UTC)The brain thing is one of my favorite lines from this;
Lister wants it to stop too, and so does Sebastian... unfortunately they can't seem to agree on which one gets to remain in the only head they've got...
Kerfuffle! :D Made me smile when I saw it.
Ah yes, 'tis dark... but some worlds and some places are dark. I'm glad you're still reading, and I hope you're enjoying it despite it all. And thank you for the feeback! Feeback is tasty. *eats it*

Thanks much for feedback!

*almost bawls in unison with Lister and Billy D:*
because masturbation was unStately
Now, that is one of the things that baffle me the most in Doyleverse. How does a little personal pleasure make you less than good? And does the, er, State have peeping toms or such to keep on top of the things? ...though the sad thing is, I think, that some people still really think like this :P
Oh god, I love that fellatio scene! Really! Verily!
Billy kissed Sebastian, his mouth open. Sebastian kissed back, frantically, and Billy let him; he tried to focus on the softness of Sebastian's lips, the clean, toothpaste-like taste of the mouth as he licked it. Good feelings, those. They'd make good memories. He stroked Sebastian's cheek. That was pretty good, too.
*heart breaks for the umpteenth time*

As for a little pleasure, denying it is the whole point. Denying people the realization of their most basic desires allowes you to control them. That's why religions do it. *nods sagely*

Date: 2006-11-22 06:41 pm (UTC)Good heavens - aren't you aware of the deteriorating effects of sex? Why, masturbation leaves your body as badly managed as a corporation run by women! Perhaps you should talk to the People's Thought Police during one of their ice-cream socials? They are always happy to inform the public about health-care.
Mmm... fellatio... *cough* :p
Aw, thanks! Glad you continue to enjoy it. :D

Date: 2006-11-22 07:44 pm (UTC)You broke one of my squicks, at least temporarily.
Now I'm just being squicked by the Doyleverse in general.

Thanks for the wonderful feedback! :)

Date: 2006-11-23 09:22 am (UTC)You know, it's funny - most of the only children I know are much more squicked by incest than those with siblings I know. I would never sleep with any of my sibs, but I'm fine with incest as long as it's goodfic. I wonder if that's a general tenent...

Date: 2006-11-23 09:41 am (UTC)I was abused by an extended family member when I was little, and did the counseling thing and all later in life, but it still doesn't squick me in general. Maybe that is sick and wrong. *spreads hands helplessly*

Date: 2006-11-23 09:49 am (UTC)I think, though, that at least on a fandom level, m/m or f/f incest is more acceptable than m/f, and I think it's because you don't get deformed babies out of slash or femmeslash (although I also think that it's probably been written somewhere).

Date: 2006-11-23 09:54 am (UTC)I don't seek it out or make it a point to write it, though - I just don't have a problem with reading it as long as it's goodfic. And I realy don't have any lingering issues with the event itself.

I quite agree, although consenting adult m/f incest-ers could also certainly make the rational choice to not procreate.

Date: 2006-11-23 04:36 am (UTC)So sad, so sweet. I really like how you wrote sebastian!Lister. And william!Rimmer has so much pathos.
I have some concrit for the story if you'd like it.

Date: 2006-11-23 07:07 am (UTC)As for concrit; we're always looking for it. If it's something technical or gramatical, you could e-mail it to us (I'm kat (at) saers (dot) com). But if it's something you think could merit discussion, you might as well post it here. I've had some good discussions come from that.

Date: 2006-11-23 11:10 am (UTC)Boo to you!!!
That was lovely. And sad. And all emotionally emotional. Hmm. I haven't seen any sign of Duane yet so I am happy ;)
Keep going ... and going ... and going. Forever and ever I say.
